Shibuya Neko Hariko (affectionately known as Shibuneko) is a one-of-a-kind, approximately 130 cm-tall beckoning cat sculpture created by contemporary artist Akira Yoshida. Believed to bring good fortune, it is now on permanent display at shibuya-san, the tourist information center on the ground floor of Shibuya Fukuras, just outside Shibuya Station.

Since its creation in April 2020, many visitors have shared heartwarming stories of how meeting Shibuneko brought positive changes to their lives, with some saying that “only good things have happened” since their visit.

The name Shibuya Fukuras comes from the Japanese word fukurasu (“to expand” or “to grow”), reflecting the wish to help the happiness of everyone who visits Shibuya continue to grow. It is a truly fitting new home for Shibuya Neko Hariko.

Created with the hope of becoming a beloved symbol of Shibuya, much like the famous Hachikō statue, Shibuneko now welcomes visitors as a new bearer of good fortune in the heart of the city.
We look forward to welcoming you, and we hope your visit to Shibuneko brings you happiness, good fortune, and wonderful memories of Shibuya.

On Permanent Display from August 18, 2026
Opening Hours : 10:00 – 20:00
Viewable through the glass even outside business hours.
